Since 1967

The restaurant Astoria started Tallinn’s first Variété show. Moderator was Kalju Saareke, whose dancing group members included "Aasa with the shining smile", "Swinging Ida", "Sweet Malle", "Long-legs-Ene" and others, who were the pearls of Variété. Everyone in town new the director of the restaurant, Rudolf Lepik and its administrator Anna Abramovna! Astoria quickly reached celebrity with its cabaret program and soon attracted visitors from Moscow and other places. The limited seats in the restaurant were reserved for the prominent and the well-connected.
